Chucky's picks for tonight

Now the Chuck has his undivided attention he likes two plays in the association tonight. For the first play the Chuck focuses his sights on the Oklahoma City at Dallas matchup. The line is currently set at Dallas laying the 10 points and the Chuck has serious reservations about the Mavericks covering that number. First of all, the injury to Jason Terry is a severe blow to the Mavericks and I think Kevin Durant is about to blow up. Asides, who was the genius to name this team the mavericks? The maverick might be just as gay as the cavalier. The Chuck will take the Oklahoma City to cover the number for 300 units.

The next matchup I will hone in on is the Toronto at Phoenix matchup. Phoenix is 3 1/2 point favorite but they are coming off from an absolute thumping by the hands of the Lakers last night. Tired and weary and without Steve Nash, the Chuck predicts that the Suns will lose yet again. Accordingly, I will take Toronto to cover this number and am even tempted to take the money line on Toronto. Seeing that it is my first day back from an extended break, I will restrain myself and only wager 300 units. Until tomorrow, I wish you the best of luck and always remember, I am better than you. Peace.

Back Again

Yes I am back from the depths of hell. Let me tell you something, I just finished some grueling work and am glad to be back at home. I was on a week long foray spanning several states and was afforded minimum amount of sleep. But now that the Chuck has taken care of what he had to take care of, he is back and better than ever. I have yet to look at the slate of games for tonight but I will have a spectacular play for the masses tonight. I just wanted to drop a line and inform all of you that I am ready to continue my dominating ways.

Taking a break

Listen, I know I have not been sharp the last couple of days and this probably due to my lack of preparation.  Seeing that I have an inordinate amount of work, I have decided that I will not wager any more of my earnings until I have enough time to effectively pick my winners.  I have a huge deadline for my job and I will be away until next Wednesday.  So until then I will not play any more games.  This is a good time for me to exercise some discipline and not squander my gains.  I suggest you do the same, assuming you are busy like I am.  Hope you fare well with the games ahead with.  Until then my good friends, do not spit upon the Chuck for he is far superior than any of you wannabe handicappers.  Peace.

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

The chuck went 1-1 last night and dropped 30 units giving him 4,520 overall units. I have to tell you, that Maryland pick was an atrocity and I apologize. I cannot get a bead on this Clemson team. But do not let this detract you and doubt the Chuck. I actually had some time to my research today and have three outstanding plays which are sure to be profitable.

1) Virginia Tech(-1) at Virginia

I do not know what is worse, a hokie or a cavalier but if I had to decide I would probably lay my money on the turkey. I cannot in my right mind endorse the Cavalier and with the line being set at Virginia Tech laying only 1 point, I will gladly play the Hokies for 300 units. This is a rivalry game and Virginia is off a huge upset win over Clemson, but do not be fooled. Virginia Tech is a better squad and they will get it done in Charlottesville. Bank on it, the Chuck has spoken.

2) NC State at UNC (-21)

NC State will cover this game just because UNC will call off the hounds at the end. Carolina could probably beat this team by 50 but Roy Williams seems to always tone down his troops in efforts to show some class and dignity. I could be wrong but I see UNC winning by 16 and State did beat Wake. Hence, I will take NC State for another 300 units.

3) Butler (-5 1/2) at University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee

I cannot see Butler not winning this game by double digits. Maybe if was Wisconsin at Madison but at Milwaukee? Butler has been rolling of late and I do not see any deviation tonight. This is my gold star pick of the night and I will bet 500 units on Butler to cover the number.

I have been going on maybe three hours of sleep due to the demands of my job. I apologize for giving such a brief analysis on each of the games but then again, all you have to know is that I will be victorious. When in doubt go with the Chuck.

Ughh

Yeah I know, I shit the bed with the UConn pick. So blow me. As I told you I am extremely busy at work and have a deadline due for next Tuesday. I offer this as no excuse and I will fully admit that I have sucked of late. But do not be confused as to the superior prowess of my prognosticating skills. I am on another level and I am not to be fucked with. With my loss of 660 units last night, my total now stands 4,550 units.
Seeing that I have devoted very little time to my research and have contacted very few sources you may want to doubt me. Don't. The two games I proffer to you tonight are good as gold. As time is short and since I need to attend to more pressing issues, I will cut to the chase and give you my winners. I like Maryland to cover the 10 1/2 points they are getting on the road from Clemson for 300 units. I also like the BYU cougars to cover the 6 1/2 points they are laying at home to New Mexico for another 300 units. The Mountain men and the Terps will make you happy, book it. The Chuck has spoken and he will be correct.

UConn vs. Pitt

The Chucky finished 1-1 in yesterday's action, losing his 300 unit play (Clemson) and winning his 400 unit play (BC), netting the Chuck a grand sum of 70 units. My total now stands at 5,210 units. The only joy I had was watching Duke choke again and making me more some loot. I should have bet the lumber but you never know which BC teams shows up.

I have been insanely busy with work and thus have neglected to do my usual research. This does not mean that I do not have a stellar play for those who have been losing miserably to make some quick loot on. Quite the contrary. For tonight's game I will concentrate on the Big East game of the Year, Pitt at UConn. My record in big time games has been quite stellar and I do not forecast it to be otherwise in tonight's matchup. Next to Blake Griffin, I think Hasheem Thabeet is the next dominating force in collegiate basketball. This kid is true monster and I think he will impose his will in tonight's game. UConn is laying 2 1/2 points at home, which I think is an extremely low number. I understand that the injury to Jerome Dyson has caused the books to lower the number. However, in my not so humble opinion, the injury to Dyson will be a non factor. Thabeet will dominate this game, the atmosphere in Storrs will be insane, and UConn will win by double digits, solidifying their dominance in the Big East. To that end, the Chuck will take UConn for 600 units. If you bet against the Chuck, it will be highly foreseeable that you will be working as a shoe shine boy in Grand Central Station. Good luck.

Not to fret

I know, I suck big time going 0-2 last Friday. But I must tell you, I would rather get blown out like that and have no chance of covering rather than losing on some insane backdoor cover. Well losing 660 units overall my total now stands at 5,140 units. I can hear you snickering at me so you better cease the nonsense. The Chuck did not even want to play that night but his degeneracy got the better of him. That is why I exercise some discipline and laid off yesterday's action.

But now I am back and better than ever. I have two plays, both in the ACC. I like Clemson over Virginia, as UVa is pathetic and every time I see that gay ass Cavalier, it makes want to hurl a rock right at his head. Clemson is favored by 8.5 and I see them winning this by double digits easily. I will take Clemson for 300 units.

Then I will follow the prevailing trend of betting against those miserable Blue Devils of Duke, who are favored by 7 1/2 at Boston College. Look, Duke might win but I am doubtful that they cover this number. Also, my bet against any devil or demon who is blue rationale has been working quite splendidly for me. As such, I will take BC for a nifty 400 units.

I will report back if anything catches my interest. Until then always remember. even when I am losing I am making more than you, so it would behoove you to start paying the Chuck some homage. Peace.

Villanova v. West Virginia

The Chuck went 1-1 last night, winning his 300 unit play while dropping his 400 unit play, netting -140 units. With the net loss the Chuck's grand total stands at 5,800 units. Louisville seemed like that they had more important matters to attend to than playing a basketball game. On the bright side my mascot indicator proved to be prophetic as Washington State dominated the hapless Ducks of Oregon. I mean the offensive production by Oregon was an absolute disgrace. They looked like a division III squad out there.
There are no NBA games slated for the upcoming weekend due to the All star game. The NCAA games tonight leave little to be desired. However, seeing that I am a degenerate, I have found a couple of games that intrigue the Chuck. For the first game we like Villanova to cover the number, set at Nova -4, against those pesky Mountaineers of West Virginia. Generally speaking, the Mountain Men have been kind to the Chuck this year. However, the eastern Mountain Men have not been as kind as their western cousins. Accordingly, the Chuck will take Villanova for 300 units.
My trusted source who gave me the Rider winner called me early this morning and told me that I should lay a handsome sum on Loyola of Chicago to cover the number against Valparaiso. The line is set at Valparaiso laying 4 1/2 points. I really am at the mercy of this person's expertise but seeing that he has given me numerous winners in the past and there are really no games out there, I will take Loyola of Chicago for 300 units.

Let's try this one more time

In my efforts to gain a proper perspective on the PAC-10, I have spent the better part of my day poring over countless data trying to formulate a viable system. Well I could not come up with anything concrete. Hence, I will resort to my trusted Mascot Indicator in attempts to break my PAC 10 drought. We will focus on the Washington State at Oregon match up, with WSU laying 11 on the road. Here is a tough question, who will win a mascot battle, a cougar or a duck? This should not be too difficult of a query to answer unless you were one of the unfortunate few who went with Duke last night. Oregon's mascot is not even an ordinary duck but a pissed off Donald Duck creature. As such, the Chuck will lay 300 units on the Washington State Cougars to maul the hapless Ducks of Oregon.

Come join the Chuck Wagon

There is nothing more gratifying than a hitting a dime bet, except when you win the wager against Duke. I will give it up to Duke for playing out of their heads in the first half, shooting at a ridiculous pace, 61%. I was not worried because the Chuck surmised correctly that Duke could not continue its torrid pace. I was amused at all of the Cameron losers geeking out, actually thinking they had a viable shot at winning this game. As sure as the sun shines and the Chuck makes money, Duke's tenuous lead soon dissipated as Ty Lawson took the game over. Lawson absolutely shitted on Paulson, exposing him for what he really is. Duke looked, once again, one dimensional and alarmingly slow. The Chuck was amazed at the Duke faithful still chanting their gay chants as their team was being dominated. These people were chanting with Carolina up by 13 with less than two minutes to go. Go home assholes, you were owned. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. My disdain for those miserable people gets the Chuck all heated up.

I also hit my Oklahoma pick as they dominated Baylor. That Blake Griffin is a monster and I thank him and the Sooners for taking care of the Chuck. For the night I was 2-0 and up 1,500 units, pushing my ever increasing total 5,940.

Turning to tonight's action, nothing really is compelling me to lay the lumber. Although, after a cursory view of the games, I do like Louisville to cover the number against Notre Dame. Louisville is currently favored by three on the road. Save for a loss to UConn, Louisville has been rolling of late, winning 9 of 10. Notre Dame on the other hand has been dismal, dropping seven in a row and failing to cover in each of those games. I will play the trend and take Louisville, laying the three, for 400 units. I might have another play later so check back with the Chuck.

Oklahoma V. Baylor

I would be remiss if I did not mention the Oklahoma at Baylor contest. After doing further research, I feel as if Oklahoma is a solid play laying 3 points to Baylor on the road. Baylor has lost their last five contests and has failed to cover in every single game of their current losing streak. Oklahoma is on fire and will continue their winning ways. I will play this game for another 500 units. I realize I am playing games tonight with overwhelming public sentiment favoring my teams. However, even the public knows a good opportunity when they see one.

Oh to be the Chuck

The Chuck had only play last night, which he won handily as Seton Hall annihilated Depaul. With his 500 unit win the Chuck's total now stands at 4,440 units. I was tempted to play a couple more games but used my better judgment. For the record, I would have went 1-1, thereby saving me 50 units on the vig. I have made a commitment to only play the strongest games on the board. Although, I will use my sources from time to time when they call me extolling the virtues of a play. The mascot indicator was spot on last night as the Blue Demons were manhandled by the mighty Pirates.

I think I might have found something in this prevailing trend of betting against any team with a blue underworld figure, be it a devil or a demon. Keeping with this current theme, the Chuck has a monster play tonight as UNC visits Duke. The books are still over valuing this fraud of a team known as the Duke Blue Devils. Currently the line is set at UNC laying 1 1/2 points on the road. Why? Has anyone seen this team perform of late? They are miserable. They are slow, unathletic and they cannot score. The only thing they have is Coach K, who I despise, but grudgingly admit to his greatness. Asides from good coaching, they are a middle tier ACC squad.

There are numerous reasons why I cannot condone a play on the Duke side. First and foremost are the Cameron geeks that infiltrate that god awful arena. Who are these people? I'll tell you who they are. They are kids who got the shit beaten out of them in high school because they were socially inept and now they are all amassed in one site screaming gay chants, thinking they are witty when in reality they are the epitome of gayness. They are that kid who played dungeons and dragons and traded those goofy wizard cards. So after years of torment, they attend a school who happens to excel in basketball. For some inexplicable reason, they feel compelled to act in the most egregiously annoying manner, screaming for attention. How pathetic. Listen, I have nothing against them as individuals but when they feign interest in basketball it bothers me. Take a close look at these people tonight and tell me with a straight face they have any inkling what a zone defense is or what weak side help is. Don't get me wrong, they know the finer points of Keynesian economics, advanced molecular theory, and the finer intricacies of the works of Immanuel Kant. I applaud them. However, you do not see me attending a seminar in nuclear physics acting like a general jackass. The reason being is I do not want to embarrass myself or those around me by acting in such a manner. Evidently, these "dookies" could care less. Also, what is up with the synchronized chants? Are you in London watching a soccer match? Soccer annoys me but nothing like these bumble fucks from Cameron. Nothing will bring me greater pleasure when I will see a Duke co-ed who knows nothing about basketball shedding tears because her beloved Blue Devils are getting absolutely bootstomped. Yes, dookies cry at these events. I have witnessed it many times. Are you freaking serious?

Aside from my above mentioned annoyance with the Duke fans, Duke will lose because they are an inferior team. They barely beat a mediocre Miami squad at home, how the hell are they going to handle the pressure and pace that UNC plays at? It won't matter that Duke gets all the calls because this game will not be close. Look for UNC to win this one going away. I don't know what a Tarheel is but it sure is better than that asinine Blue Devil. Don't even get me started on Dick Vitale, that pitiful clown. As if all the aforementioned reasons weren't enough to compel you to play UNC, just know that the Chuck is on UNC and that should be good enough for you. I will take UNC for 1,000 units. Go Heels.

Go Hall Go

The Chuck went 2-1 in last night's action as he banked his two NCAA plays and dropped his NBA play, netting 450 units last night. With his winnings the Chuck's total now stands at 3,990. I have to tell you, I was sweating that Kansas game at the end. I thought that the game was over and done with and then I see Missouri tied with KU and threatening possible overtime. I was relieved to see Missouri winning the game in regulation by 2 points, which is less than the 4 1/2 points they were favored by.
It was also good to see my trusted and nameless source being victorious with his Rider pick, thereby redeeming his earlier Samford over Furman pick. All in all, it was a pleasant way to start of the week. We will try to keep the winners rolling this week as I need to start building up bankroll for baseball.
As for tonight I really do not see a bevy games that interest me. I am refraining, mind I tell you, from playing every marginal game out there. It clouds the judgment and exposes you to bad streaks. That being said, I really only like one game out there tonight and that involves a Big East matchup between Seton Hall and Depaul. Seton Hall seems to have found their stride of late, winning their last four contests and covering the number in six out of their last eight games. Depaul, on the other hand, is absolutely dismal and has lost their last eleven games. During their streak of futility, Depaul has managed only to cover the number twice. The line is currently set at Seton Hall laying 1 1/2 points on the road. I think Depaul continues to struggle and Seton Hall should take this one handily.
Another reason for me backing Seton Hall is because their mascot, the Pirate, is always at the top of the strength chart of the Chuck's mascot indicator. The Blue Demon, Depaul's mascot, on the other is eerily similar to the Blue Devil. We do not think much of any Demon or Devil, especially if he is Blue. Why is he blue? Why not Red? Aren't devils and demons supposed to be red? Maybe he is blue because he sucks so much. In any case, the Chuck likes the Pirates of Seton Hall to cover this number and will bet 500 units. I have to do some more research before posting any more picks. Although, I might just stay pat. Just remember, I am better than you so check back to see who I deem worthy of picking.

Rider v. Marist

I came upon this game after my boy drew my attention to it. He is awfully fond of playing these no name schools because he feels as if the oddsmakers are not up to par when formulating these lines. I must tell you I have no idea where Rider or Marist are located, let alone their starting five. Even though he was wrong on the Samford game, I thought I'd give him one more shot. After performing a purely quantative analysis on this game, I must admit that I am rather intrigued at this play. Rider sports a record of 13-9 and Marist's record stands at a dismal 7-18. In their earlier matchup this year, Rider won handily and covered the number which was set -8. Marist is entering this game on a 7 game losing streak. Currently the line is set at Rider laying 1 1/2 points. My source is telling me that this a super lock and is begging me to lay a dime on this game. I will not lay a dime but I will bet a nickel and offer him an oppurtunity to redeem himself for his Samford debacle. The Chuck will endorse Rider for a cool 500 units and suggests you do the same. Trust me, next to me this guy is probably the next best handicapper I have ever witnessed. That should be good enough for you. If you listened to me good luck to you and if you bet against me, I hope you suffer a long case of the gout.

Brand New Week

Okay, maybe it was not prudent for the Chuck to play the marginal games on Sunday but I felt that the tide had turned. I thought I was on the verge of a nice streak, but the Chuck suffered the consequences of haphazard and flippant wagering. I apologize for my Sunday action as I went 0-2 and dropped 660 units, dropping my total to 3,540 units. I know, the PAC 10 sucks big donkey balls and, for the short term, I intend to avoid it like the plague. However, don't think for one second that I will not figure that miserable conference out before the end of the season, for the Chuck is something like a phenomenon. Nevertheless, the Chuck posted a solid week gaining 1,150 units. I still have some work to do in order to recoup from my SuperBowl debacle but rest assured, I will come out victorious.

I like two games tonight, one in the NBA and one in College. In the NBA, I will look to capitalize on the current momentum of the LA Clippers when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats. I realize it seems highly unlikely that the Clippers will finish their recent grueling road trip with three straight consecutive wins but that is exactly what I predicting. Currently the line is set at Charlotte laying 1 1/2 points. With the Bobcats lineup riddled with injuries and Zach Randolph returning to the Clip, I will take the Clippers for 500 units.

Turning to the collegiate game, I like the Big Twelve matchup between Kansas and Missouri. Kansas is currently getting 4 1/2 points on the road. In the battle of the flat states, I am inclined to go with the Jaywhawks for the simple fact that they own Missouri, winning 8 out of the last 10 meetings. Also, Kansas is the alma mater of Wilt Chamberlain, who allegedly bedded over two thousand women. Any school who boasts an alumni who was that prolific in shagging the broads has my vote. I will take Kansas for another 500 units.

Do not doubt the Chuck

I hit my FSU at Clemson game for 300 units as FSU beat Clemson outright, pushing my total to 4200 units. I like two games tomorrow. The first matchup that I fancy is between Penn State and Wisconsin. Penn State is a 1 1/2 point favorite at home against the Badgers. Seeing that the Badger is remarkably similar to a Groundhog, an animal that the Chuck openly despises , I will take PSU for a cool 300 units.

I will also take the over in the Washington v. Stanford game, which is set at 153. I think it will be a fast track and the total is set way too low. I must warn you, my track record involving PAC 10 teams is pretty dismal. Seeing that this is a total play, I will not let it detract me from making my loot. I will take the over another 300 units.

FSU v. Clemson

The Chuck won his early game with Miami covering the 13 1/2 points easily against the Gay devils of Duke. The more I watch this Duke squad, the more I am disenamored with them. They are way too slow and they are small. They should have lost this game outright but they somehow managed to eke out a win, much to my dismay. With his 500 unit winnings, the Chuck's total now stands at 3900 units.

I like another ACC matchup tonight and that involves FSU and Clemson. Currently the line is at Clemson -9 1/2. I do not see them covering this number. They are coming off an emotional win against Duke and FSU needs a victory to solidify their NCAA tourney hopes. Seems like a perfect trap game for Clemson and the Chuck will bet accordingly. Also, I think that Duke win will prove to be nothing special as many teams will beat Duke this year. I will lay 300 units on FSU to cover this number. The Chuck has spoken, so it must be true. Book it my friends, Book it.

Betting against Duke

I went 2-2 last night but won my two 500 unit plays while losing my two 300 unit plays, leaving me up 340 units for the night. With the 340 unit increase, my total now stands 3,400 units. I have one early play today and that is University of Miami covering against Duke, with the line currently set at Duke -13 1/2. I am laying 400 units on Miami and suggest you do the same.

Friday, February 6, 2009

Are you serious?

Well the Chuck has checked the lines on the two games I was watching and both lines are way below what I anticipated. They may very well be trap games but I will throw caution into the wind and bet both for handsome amounts. I know Utah is coming off a game last night at home and has to travel for a game tonight and fatigue might set in. However, have you seen the team that the Kings are fielding? Kevin Martin, John Salmons, Spencer Hawes, Beno Udrih, and Jason Thompson are the starting members of your Sacramento Kings. WTF? Are you serious? Who the hell is Beno Udrih? The Chuck cannot in his right mind endorse a team that features a Beno in its starting lineup. The only thing that frightens me is that this line is set at Utah only laying 2 1/2 points. It seems egregiously low and could indicate a trap. I will not let that deter me from making my loot and I will bank on the Merry Mountain Men from Utah to carry me to yet another victory. I will play this game for a nifty 500 units.

The Wizards are in some kind of funk and firing Eddie Jordan doesn't seem to have been the correct move. Denver owns Washington and this line is set at 6 1/2, which again seems to be a misprint. The Wizards got blown out by the Grizzlies at home and are playing piss poor ball. As such, the Chuck is compelled to lay another 500 units on the Nuggets.

To recap, I have NY for 300 units, Memphis for 300 units, Denver for 500 units, and Utah for 500 unit. There you go my friends, four winners for you to go silly with. Remember, it is always prudent to be kind to the Chuck for he comes bearing gifts.

Oh Well

The Chucky Chill went 1-2 last night dropping 360 units to his total, which now stands at 3,060 units. My NCAA picks have been less than stellar of late and I will address this immediately. My usually reliable sources have been feeding the Chuck some erroneous information. As such, I will be more discriminating in deciding who to listen to. Although, the source who fed me Samford last night is usually spot on, so I cannot complain and ultimately, I bet the game. That being said, I still erred in taking Portland, who absolutely disintegrated in the second half against those crazy Zags. The mountain men of Utah took care of the Chuck once again, for which he is extremely grateful.

Looking to the NBA tonight, I have spotted a couple of gems that I will look to play. The first matchup is Boston at New York, with the Celtics laying 5 1/2 points. The Celtics are coming off a heartbreaking overtime loss to the hands of the Lakers and without any rest have to come to MSG to take on a scrappy Knick club. I suspect the Celtics will be a tad fatigued and will lack the energy needed to cover this number. The Chucky Chill will take the Knicks (+5) for 300 units.

The next matchup that enamors the Chucky Chill is between Memphis and the LA Clippers. Both teams are putrid this year, however, Memphis has been playing a lot better of late and OJ Mayo seems to be hitting his stride. The Clippers have a penchant for losing by double digits on the road and I do not think the streak will end here. The line is set at Memphis laying 5 1/2 points at home and the Chuck has his line set at 7. Accordingly, I will take the Grizzlies to cover the 5 1/2 points for another 300 units.

Couple of games that I am keeping my eyes on are the Denver/Washington and Utah/Sacramento matchups. If both lines are set at single digits numbers then the Chuck will be ready to pounce on the favorites. I have a sneaky suspicion that both games will be blowouts. Check back to see whether any further action is warranted. Just a friendly reminder, do no doubt the Chuck unless you want to be Bernie Madoff's personal assistant.

Samford v. Furman

I just got a call from my boy who is absolutey telling me to pound the table on this one. Samford is laying 3 1/2 points on the road to a wretched Furman squad. He is telling me that Samford will win this one going away. I must tell you, I have no idea where even thse two schools are located. However, I trust my source since he has been reliable with his information in the past. To that end, I will lay 300 units on Samford laying th 3 1/2 points. Book it again, the Chucky has spoken. Peace.

I stand corrected

I apologize for all of you who played Duke because of me. Clemson prove me wrong again and absolutely decimated Duke. As well as Clemson played, with energy and a dogged determination, Duke was absolutely horrid. They were gutless and they are now banished from the Chuck's list of teams to bet on. They will remain on this list until I have deemed them worthy of being removed. Going into the Duke game, I was feeling good about my plays as BC easily covered against Virginia, putting the Chuck at +300 units for the night. Then Duke proceeded to put on a performance that can only be described as an abomination. They looked slow as Clemson players were running circles around them, literally. Well this did not sit well with the Chuck as he had envisioned a +800 unit night.

When I realized that a comeback by the Duke Gay Devils was not imminent, I remembered the two NBA plays one of my trusted sources gave me earlier in the day. He gave me Orlando and Golden State and told me to parlay the two to fatten my bankroll. The thought did enter my head, however, the Chuck never parlays anything. I considered playing the games outright but I was extremely busy yesterday and could not place the wagers. Well after watching this putrid performance by Duke, I was a bit upset and I decided to place a 500 unit play on the Warriors. Even though I won the play, I do not recommend such a course of action. Impulsive gambling usually yields greater losses for most. Lucky for me, I am not like you and am blessed by the gambling Gods who bestow loot upon me even when I chase. The Warriors won the game outright and with the 500 unit win I ended up 250 units for the night bringing my total to 3,420 units. I apologize for not posting the play earlier but, as I told you, it was an impulse play spurred on by the ineptness of the Duke Gay Devils.

That being said, I will now turn my attention to tonight's action. I like one game in the NBA and it involves the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Mavericks. Without getting into a long winded analysis of which nickname is gayer because both are extremely gay, I like Utah laying the three points. The Mountain Folk of Utah have been especially kind to the Chuck and he will continue to exploit their hospitality. Accordingly, I will take Utah for 300 units. Staying out West, I like the Gonzaga at Portland matchup. Gonzaga is laying 10 points on the road and quite frankly, I do not think thy will cover this number. I will take Portland for another 300 units. Currently, these are the only two plays that intrigue the Chuck but I will keep you posted if I feel compelled to play another game. Until then always remember, if you keep betting with the Chuck, the maybe you will have enough money to hide from the IRS like our boy, Tommy Daschle.

Late NBA play

Looks like my Duke play is shitting the bed. Oh well, never to fear for the Chucky has a late night gem for all of you looking to recoup their losses. Actually, I wanted to play this game earlier but thought better of it. However, as I stare at the prospect of a losing night I will indulge in one late night wager. I will take the Warriors to cover the number over the Suns for 500 units. The line is set at Suns -4. One of Chucky's reliable sources, who follows the Suns religiously, told me to bank on a Sun's letdown tonight, let's see if he is right. Also, the Warriors have been golden ATS at home. Book it, the Chucky has spoken.

Back in the Saddle Again

The Chuck won both of his plays last night and collected another 600 units to push his total units to 3,170. Maryland, who looked like they were going to lose by 50, miracolously covered the number bringing a smile to the Chucky Chill's handsome face. And in the battle of the Mountain People, BYU easily dispatched those psuedo ballers from the Air Force Academy. For those who think that the Chuck has lost his touch, keep thinking that and see where it gets you. As gifted as I am, I am not immune to the occassional cold streak, where for some inexplicable reason my handicapping radar malfunctions slightly. What you have to remember is that the cold streaks are never for an extended period of time and soon enough I will be collecting my riches.
The Chuck has honed in on two outstanding plays in the NCAA. The first game of interest involves the Duke Blue Devils and the Clemson Tigers. The line is set at Duke laying four points on the road. Just to let you know, the Chuck lost a huge bet last year betting against Clemson when they played Duke on the Road. Clemson not only covered the number but won outright, causing much pain to the Chucky. With that in mind, I am still taking the Duke to cover this number. I would not be surprised to see Coach K and his boys administer a severe beat down. Clemson with its gaudy record, in my not so humble opinion, is a fraud. They collect wins against the bottom half of the ACC and other inferior programs. The two marquee programs that they have faced, UNC and Wake, easily disposed of them and revealed them for what they are. Until they have beaten some one of note, I refuse to acknowledge them as a top tier program. Duke, as much as I despise them, is a juggernaut. They are extremely disciplined, vastly taleted, and well coached. They also receive favorable calls from the referees and, with the exception of last year's loss, they own Clemson. This is the Chuck's top play of the day and I will take Duke for 500 units.
The next game that I will be playing is also in the ACC with the Virginia Cavaliers facing the Boston College Eagles. First of all, any team with the gay Cavalier mascot automatically raises the Chuck's suspicions. For my previous take on this subject please refer to why a cavalier is gay. Add to the fact, that Virginia is deplorable and enters this contest with five consecutive losses and BC enters this contest with four consecutive wins, you figure it out. Accordingly I will take BC, laying 2 1/2 points, to cover this number for 300 units. There you have it, two sure fire winners for you tonight. As Bob Dylan was fond of saying, "You don't need a weatherman to know where the wind blows." What Mr. Dylan failed to note was that you do need the Chuck to know where the loot blows.

Thank you UConn

Well, I went 2-1 last night thanks in part to the UConn Huskies and the mascot indicator. I booked the Portland play as well, while the Knicks finally failed to cover. For the night, I was up 180 units pushing my total to 2,570 units. Looking towards tonight's action I actually like many games but will concentrate on two to put me back on my winning ways. For the first matchup, I will be looking to capitalize on an ACC matchup, North Carolina v. Maryland. Listen, I realize that Maryland lost to Duke by an egregious amount; however to be a 21 1/2 point dog seems to be a bit much. I am not saying that the Tarheels are not capable of bootstomping the Terps but for my money, I will take the points and hope that the Terps will be fairly competitive and lose by 15 or so. Is that so much to ask? Plus, Gary Williams just got a vote of confidence from his AD and the Chucky will play the Terps for 300 units. By the way, what the hell is a Tarheel? If any one knows, please let me know.

For my second play we go to the Mountain West for the BYU at Air Force matchup. For the most part, the Chuck is generally suspicious of Mountain people. They seem a bit shady and unkempt. Also, every time you see one on television they are either kidnapping little girls, blowing up schools, or engaging in some other nefarious activity. In the battle of the Mountain people, I will take the Mormons of Brigham Young over the Air Force Academy for the simple fact that Steve Young is related to Brigham Young. Throw in the fact that Jim Mcmahon and Danny Ainge are proud alumni, well you have my vote. Who came out of the Air force academy except pretentious fighter pilot guys? Plus the "cheer force" does not know how to score. They are absolutely abominable on offense. As such, I will take those crazy Mormons laying the 12 points for another 300 units.

UConn v. Lousiville

Okay, I am going to play this game against my better judgment. I'm going to be home tonight with nothing else to do but to watch this game on ESPN. For some reason, my NBA league pass is not working and until some schmuck from Direct TV can rectify the situation, I am relegated to watching ESPN. The game itself is compelling and having done no germane research on the game itself, I will choose the winner entirely on the basis of the mascot indicator. Huskie or Cardinal? Seeing that both have burnt me in the past, I am at an impasse. But my disdain for the cardinal has made me pick the Huskies for 200 units. Plus, they are getting 3 points. Book it, the Chuck has spoken.

NBA plays for tonight

Waking up this morning, I saw that despicable little creature, Punxsutawney Phil, predicting another six weeks of winter. I just want to know how this abursidity of a tradition even got started? My disdain for this worthless tradition was amplified more, due to the fact that this corpulent rodent hails from Punxsutawney Pennsylvania, eighty four miles northeast of Pittsburgh. But I digress.

Now that football season is over, I am concentrating on the NBA and NCAA hoops season in earnest. Tonight, I have two stellar plays to get me back to my winning ways. For the first game, I am taking for 200 units, the New York Knicks, getting 6 points at home, against the LA Lakers. The Knicks are on fire and warrant the Chuck's attention. I am also taking Portland, getting 3 1/2 on the road, to cover the number against New Orleans for another 200 units. Yes, I am scaling my units down for now, until I start steam rolling again. Mind I tell you, this will not be for an extended period of time, so it would benefit you to start banking on the Chuck's picks while he is down. While I get a feel for how this hoops season plays out, trust me, you want to be on the side that I am taking.

Upsetting Indeed

I see you there snickering at the misfortunes of the Chucky Chill, waving your little crooked finger. I admit, the Chuck was less than outstanding in his weekend predictions. Going in to Friday night's game, I was at 4,170 units and promptly dropped anothr 330 units as the New Jersey Nets shat the bed and got pummeled by the Hawks. Going into Sunday I stood at 3,840 units and then the unimaginable happened; I was wrong. I did hit my proposition bet that a team would score within the first six minutes for 200 units. This pushed my total back to 4,040 units. I was feeling mighty fine with Steelers ahead 20-7 and the Cardinals offense sputtering. Althouh there was this indicia of concern brewing deep inside the Chuck everytime the Steelers would have to settle for three instead of finishing this team, I thought the game was well in hand. The referees seemed to be on the Steeler's side and I was ready to proclaim yet another Superbowl vicotry. But as Arizona's defense stiffened and the Steelers failed to add to their lead, my concerns were increasing. And when the Cardinals scored on the fade route to Larry Fitzgerald, I realized that I would lose this game. When it became clear that Pittsburgh would not cover this number, I rooted earnestly for Arizona to win the game outright. As you know, nothing upsets me more than watching a team celebrate when it has not covered. But alas, it was not the Chuck's night or weekend as Santonio Holmes pulled down the evening's final touchdown, catapulting the Steeler's to their sixth Superbowl victory. With my 1650 unit hit, the Chuck's account now stands at 2,390 units. Lesser men would be reeling, but must I remind you I am not such a man.
It sickened me to see Pittsburgh celebrating, knowing that they did not cover this number. What are they so happy for? Don't they know that they lost multitudes of people a tremendous amount of money? But the fault lies with me, as I should have known that this team would not finish. Well, the Chuck finally loses a Superbowl and he is reeling from a recent losing streak. Do you think I am sulking and lamenting my misfortunes? Indeed I am doing no such thing and even in the midst of failure, the Chuck was hammering out the kinks in his basketball prediction machine, so he may bring you winners galore. Remember this, even when I lose I am better than you. I will post my daily selection later.
