What the Chuck?

Yes I know, the Chuck had an unfortunate turn of events on Saturday, dropping all of his plays, going a rare 0-4 and dropping 1,760 units. My total now stands at 4,210 units. It was disheartening that I could not extend my moderate winning streak and power my way into the baseball season, however, I am not detracted by such minor setbacks. I am giddy with the anticipation of a new baseball season, but have some trepidation as well, since I have not tested my new Baseball Crystal Ball as of yet. Well no time like the present to test my brand spanking new Baseball Crystal Ball.

The first game the Chuck laid his money on was on the New York Mets (-147) at Cincinnati matchup. I will fully disclose my bias here. I am a huge New York Mets fan and I will admit that I do bet with my heart from time to time. This, however, is not one of those occasions. The Mets are throwing Johan Santana on the mound today against Adam Harang. The addition of Fransisco Rodriguez and JJ Putz to the Mets bullpen will prove to be the deciding factor in this game. I predict Sanatana throws 6 to 7 innings of near shutout ball and the bullpen will do the rest. As such, I put 147 units to win 100 units on the Mets. Furthermore, I also put 100 units on the under with the total being set at 7 1/2 runs.

In my next game I like the over in the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Devil Rays matchup in Boston. The line is set at 8 1/2 runs and although you have Beckett on the mound, James Shields is by no means a shut down pitcher. Seeing that Fenway is a hitter's park and both squads are loaded with hitters, the over seems like a smart play. I put 200 units on the over. That is it for the early games. I will post my NBA and my late MLB plays later. Also, I will also post my NCAA play shortly.
