Nonsense, Pure Nonsense

As I sunk into my leather recliner, inebriated from a long night of drinking, I watch my night of hopeful wagers evaporate into a pile of garbage. Oh yes, the Chuck did not fare so well last night as team after team inexplicably disappointed the Chuck. First it was Utah, who showed their fatigue in dropping their first game after winning twelve straight. Then Boston decides to put in an overwhelming mediocre performance and drop their first game to the Heat after repeatedly dominating them in their last four previous meetings. Then the Oregon State Beavers fail to deliver even with Obama's mojo in their corner. I had an inkling yesterday not to touch these games but being a derelict gambler sometimes impedes the rational thought process. Unlike most, I have an uncanny ability to not let my past failures to interfere with my inevitable future success.

I was contemplating wagering on fewer games but then I quickly dismissed this notion. It's March and there are games to be played. For the first early game I will shift my focus to the ACC where Virginia Tech meets Miami. Both teams need to win in order to impress the NCAA committee. Especially Tech, which has been in a downward spiral losing 6 of their last 7. Miami has lost to Tech in both of their previous matchups, but somehow I do not think history will repeat itself today. It is difficult to beat a team three times in a season, especially when the disparity in talent is so slim. I should have applied this logic last night in the Oregon State game but failed to do so and lost my wager. I will take Miami, who are laying three points, for 300 units.

I also like Ole Miss to cover the spread against the free falling Kentucky Wildcats. Kentucky has lost 5 out its last 6 and are fighting for a NCAA tournament bid. Unfortunately, except for Meeks, Kentucky has no heart. They make too many mistakes and are to erratic. Kentucky is laying 7 and I sincerely doubt that they will cover this number. I like Ole Miss for the tune of another 300 units. I will be diligently working through today's slate of games and I will post my plays later.
