After much deliberation, I have decided on the rest of tonight's action. In the early game between Syracuse and Oklahoma, I had much difficulty in picking a side. Almost to a point where I was not going to play this game. However, I realized the extent of my degeneracy and begrudgingly realized that I must play all the games. The line is set at Oklahoma -1. Everyone knows that Blake Griffin is as advertised and has the ability to win a game all by himself. That being said, I do not think Griffin alone can win this game. Syracuse, in my not so humble opinion, has the best backcourt in the nation and considering Oklahoma's backcourt is the weakest component of that team, I leaned towards Cuse to cover this number. As great as Griffin is, I think Syracuse is more versatile and will prevail in tonight's matchup. The Chuck put 200 units on Syracuse.
In the other early game between Arizona and Louisville, I was again hesitant in picking a side. No doubt that Louisville is a far superior team but the 9 1/2 points they are laying is a big number and is not to be scoffed at. As much as I despise this Arizona squad because they have cost me money in the past and they shouldn't even be in this tournament, one must respect their recent body of work. Well, not really. I mean, who have they beaten? They beat a mountain west squad in Utah and Cleveland State. Let us be honest here and ask ourselves this simple question: Can Arizona make this game competitive? I will spare you the suspense and needless contemplation. The answer is a resounding no. Arizona is a sham and a mockery. Their head coach is a farce and just a year ago he was coaching a travel ball squad and providing color radio commentary for Arizona State. He has no relevant coaching experience and he is about to match wits with the great Pitino. He will most certainly be vanquished and forgotten. Also, it is not like the Wildcat players have some endearing affinity for the man where they want to save his job. He is an interim coach and his tenure is about to expire. Do yourself a favor and put some coin on the Cards to trounce the Wildcats. I, myself, put 300 units on Louisville.
In the final game of the night between UNC and Gonzaga, the Tarheels are favored by 8 points, another substantial number. I respect the Zags and although they play in a weak conference, they do step up and play the big boys when given the opportunity. They are 4-4 against NCAA tournament teams with wins over Maryland, Tennessee twice, and Oklahoma state. The team they are about to face is nothing like those aforementioned squads. In fact, when Gonzaga played Memphis they lost by 18. Granted they only lost to UConn by 5, it was early in the season, well before the Huskies got their flow. I see UNC absolutely thrashing the Zags and although 8 is a large number, I think you would be wise to take UNC and lay the points. I laid 300 units on the Tarheels to cover the eight and suggest you follow my suit.
My work here is done for tonight. After tonight is over and you are counting your freshly minted currency, all I ask is for you to think of me fondly. The Chuck is human and needs adulation once in a while. Actually, I could care less because at the end of the day, I am the best that ever was or will be.
