Mascot Indicator

As you know, my mascot indicator is 2-0 and through some further research and deep analysis, I have come up with yet another play. Tonight's PAC 10 matchup between UCLA and Washington State offers yet another prime game to test this nascent system out. As you are well aware, UCLA's mascot is a bruin, another name for a brown bear. The brown bear is a formidable animal that can weigh up to as much as 1,500 pounds. It has sharp claws and exhibits tremendous strength. Washington State's mascot is a cougar, a wild cat who is sleek and agile. Thy typically weigh only about 100-130 pounds, far lighter than your Bruin. The cougar is an ambush predator and it has been reported that a cougar is able to take down a large moose. But a brown bear is not a moose, not by any means. In fact, the only thing that hunts brown bears are bigger bears. Aside from speed and wit, the cougar is inferior to the brown bear and if the two came to blows, well, you know the outcome. As such, Chucky Chill will gladly take the Bruins to cover the 5 points tonight for another 400 units. This one is good as gold, book it.

  1. Actually, bruin is the name of the bear in "Reynard the Fox" and has come to be a generic term for "bear".

  2. You are quite right Mr. Phil. However, this does not change the fact that the Bruin representing UCLA is a non menancing sort, resembling a baby cub. His overall jocularity and gayness should have tipped me off. But alas, you live and you learn. I am still high on the Mascot indicator as viable handicapping tool.
